Children thrive when they are nurtured, encouraged, heard and supported. Teachers are special because they are committed to seeing students excel and develop their inherent talents. Without teachers, children lack the structure and investment that they need to dream. They lack the impetus to push forward and achieve goals. They lack the cheering team to encourage them and inspire belief that they can be successful.
Teachers are celebrated on May 4, and anytime members of this noble profession are acknowledged, that is a good thing. However, teachers should be celebrated everyday, not just one day out of the year. Teachers face enormous challenge in their quest to ignite a fire in children and keep that flame burning so that it drives ambition and future achievements. Society benefits from a strong, engaged and valued teacher corps.
As you go on your way today, thank every teacher that you encounter. Acknowledge their role in your your life and in society. Listen to their needs. Respect their sacrifice. Appreciate their dedication and show them love. Happy Teachers’ Day to every teacher who makes a positive difference in the lives of children.
