For societies to function in a manner that meets the needs of all citizens there must be unity of purpose. One person cannot achieve all goals for the entire society.

On the third day of Kwanzaa, the principle that is front and center is Ujima, which means collective work and responsibility. The message that Ujima emphasizes is shared values, hopes, dreams, work and responsibility. Each person is encouraged to be interested in the welfare of others so that everyone can grow, thrive and achieve positive outcomes.

When one person succeeds through the collective efforts and support of a community, a sense of shared purpose and achievement permeates the entire society, spurring more success stories. PM
